Montgomery Bell Academy Open Invitational International Air Rifle and Air Pistol

The first ever Montgomery Bell Academy Open Invitational International Air Rifle and Air Pistol Match is being held on 11 November, 2017.  The match is sponsored by the Tennessee Shooting Sports Association (TNSSA) according to the following conditions:

Registration.  All competitors must be registered via either the attached registration form or Online Registration Site no later than 3 November 3, 2017. 

This match program is subject to change.

Range.  The match will be conducted at Montgomery Bell Academy’s rifle range at 205 S Wilson Blvd, Nashville, TN using the SIUS electronic target scoring system.  

Course of Fire.  The match will be conducted in one relay as a 60 shot international air rifle and air pistol course of fire per the current ISSF rules.

Classes:  Precision air rifle and air pistol.  This match is open to all competitors with no age or gender categories.

Conduct of the Match:  Individual Competition.   Fifteen minute prep and sighting period followed by 75 minute competition period.  No finals.  

Eligibility.  All scholastic, club and adult athletes are welcome to compete.  Relay(s) are restricted to 30 registrants 

Relay(s) and Time(s).

Saturday 11 November 11th:  Relay 1 (9-11AM)

An additional relay may be added in the event that Relay 1 fills up.

Awards.  Medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place individuals.  

Entry Fees.  An entry fee of $10 for each individual competitor must be included with the complete match registration.  

Directions to MBA.  From Interstate 440 take the West End Ave (Hwy 70S) exit heading west away from downtown Nashville.  MBA’s campus in approximately 1 mile down West End on the left hand side.  From West End turn left onto Wilson Ave (traffic light) and proceed south on Wilson for approximately a city block.  Turn left into the entrance of campus and cross the stone bridge into the parking garage.  The entrance to the range will be immediately to your left as you enter the garage.

Check-in Day of Match.  Shooting-athletes must report to the match director at the squading desk one half hour before the beginning of their assigned relay.   The squading desk is located in the foyer of the rifle range.  
Safety.  Safe rifle and pistol handling is paramount to this event.  All competitors will have a clear barrel indicator inserted in their rifle/pistol bore at all times except when actually shooting.  All competitors will read and sign a safety briefing before they set-up their position.  Rifles/pistols should be transported in hard cases. Rifle/pistols cases will only be opened on the firing line at the direction of the Range Safety Officer.

Concessions.  Complimentary bottled water and coffee will be available.
